The Clean-Up Begins
After last weekend’s snowstorm, we have quite a bit of clean-up to do. So I started calling around to tree removal contractors to see if I could get on their list.
I knew they would be busy, so I was a little surprised to find that the first tree removal contractor I could reach offered to give me three estimates over the phone.
OK, I thought, my mood brightening considerably. All I had to do was tell him how many trees had come down and he would provide the instant quotes. When he heard that we had fallen trees and debris all over the yard, my three quotes were:
- Through the nose
- Sky high
- An arm and a leg
Of course, he said that I could wait until a tree removal contractor could survey the damage, so I thought maybe I would be better off going that route. Again, they had three dates available:
- When hell freezes over
- In a month of Sundays
- On the twelfth of never
Of course, I made this all up (not really), but considering that I wasn’t able to reach anyone and hit many whose mailboxes were full, I am thinking that this isn’t far from the truth.
Lest you think I am joking, here are a few more pictures! We will probably be done next spring!
