Free Admission to the National Parks!
National Park Week is April 16-24, 2011, and the National Park Service is offering free admission to all the national parks. Some of the parks are free anyway, but some of the most popular and famous charge admission. But for one week, you can get in for free.
If you are experiencing a little spring fever, what better way to explore the treasures we have in this country than by visiting your favorite park or one that you have longed to go to. Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Muir Woods, Cape Cod National Seashore, Assateague National Seashore, Shenandoah, Yosemite, and so many others will be free during National Park Week. You can check out the national parks by state, by name, by topic, or by activity to see which one you want to visit.
This year's theme is "Healthy Parks, Healthy People." There will be special events and special promotions during the week, with plenty for adults and kids to do.
If you can't get away during that week, plan your next visit with the National Park Service's guides.
Happy National Park Week!
