The Year Halloween Was Cancelled in Connecticut

I don't ever remember Halloween being cancelled, but this year it will be in many parts of Connecticut. We had a major snow storm on October. 29, 2011 that left 800,000 people without power. It was more devastating than Hurricane Irene. The weight of the snow on leaves that hadn't yet fallen from the trees brought trees and limbs crashing to the ground, many ripping through power lines. So with good reason, Halloween will be cancelled. There are no lights on my street to illuminate walkways or houses that might want to participate. But even worse are the tree limbs still dangling from power lines and trees, waiting to fall on someone and do more damage. Don't even think twice about this: STAY HOME!
