Good News! Cruisin' on Main Street Rescheduled for September 18, 2011!
Cruisin' on Main Street, one of Manchester CT's premier events, has had to be rescheduled twice because of the weather. The new date is September 18, 2011 from 11:00 to 4:00.
Cruisin' on Main Street began in 2001 and is the largest downtown exhibition of vintage cars in the Northeast. Anyone with a registered vehicle at least 25 years old is able to strut his/her stuff. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., cars will register ($10 per vehicle) for the event and receive directions on where to park. The first 1,000 vehicles to register will receive a 2011 commemorative dash plaque.
With over 1,000 cars and 30,000 spectators expected, this year's Cruisin' on Main Street is sure to be a hit with every fan of vintage cars. Of course, all the people in attendance will be able to satisfy their hunger and thirst by visiting over 30 vendors or area restaurants.
Sponsors' Choice Trophies will be presented at 3:00 p.m., with selection beginning at 1:00 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit MARC (an organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities) and Downtown Manchester Special Services Division with a portion going to MACC (Manchester Area Conference of Churches) Special Charities.
