Harriet Beecher Stowe House - Free and Open to the Public
On Monday, January 17, 2010, Harriet Beecher Stowe House in Hartford CT will offer free tours and activities for Martin Luther King Day.
Located at 77 Forest Street, Hartford CT, the center will be open from 9:30 to 4:30. In addition to a tour of the house, there are exhibits including "Uncle Tom's Cabin - A Moral Battle Cry for Freedom" as well as other exhibits about the life and times of the author and her family.
For children ages 5-12, there will be activities such as storytelling, a scavenger hunt, crafts, and journal writing in addition to tours from a child's point of view.
