The Manchester Road Race will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010. This will be the 74th running of the Manchester Road Race, a nationally-known event. As in the past, there will be plenty of excitement and registration is already underway.
Here is a picture of Main Street, Manchester, CT now, but it certainly won't look like that on November 25, 2010. The Manchester Road Race typically draws around 13,000 runners or more. It is the largest race in Connecticut and the third largest in New England. It also ranks in the top 25 distance races in the country. With crowds lining the entire 4.748 mile route, the race is a tradition in Manchester that you won't want to miss.
Unlike last year, the Manchester Road Race committee will not be mailing registration forms out (saving a lot of money), but people can register on line, through the mail, or in person.
The Manchester Road Race committee has also decided to cut off registration at 15,000 so you will want to register now to guarantee your entry. Registration is $20 until November 7 and $25 after that date.
Official Manchester Road Race T-shirts are available for purchase either online or at several area locations.
For other information about the new age categories, shuttle buses, times, etc., visit the Manchester Road Race website.
Whether you run, walk, or cheer everyone on, the Manchester Road Race is a great tradition! And you will burn up a few extra calories so you can enjoy all those Thanksgivings goodies guilt-free. See you there!
