Congratulations, Bruce! My favorite, Bruce Springsteen, was selected for Kennedy Center Honors of 2009 for his contribution to American culture through the performing arts.
Bruce, who turned 60 on September 23, 2009, is truly one of America's poet laureates and deserves this honor. He has spent his life writing and performing music that rocks on and rocks our world.
For a great bio, read the write-up on Bruce Springsteen for the Kennedy Center Honors.
For a great book, read It Ain't No Sin To Be Glad You're Alive: The Promise of Bruce Springsteen by Eric Alterman.

Peggy it is so hard to believe that a talented individual such as Bruce Springstein could be 60 years old. i've always enjoyed his music. This is a long overdue honor and one well deserved!
I love the fact the Bruce has been able to sustain over the years. I remember listening to him when I was little with my Dad. To see that he is still going strong is great!
Hi Peggy,
So he is now 60 is he?? Who'd have believed it. Mind you, I don't think he is as old as The Rolling Stones! LOL. I think Mick Jagger is 66!!!
Steve
WHATEVA!! Everyone knows that 60 is the new 40 - just ask Lee! Thanks for the links Peggy!
I saw Bruce live in New york when I was a kid. He had a lot of energy then and the show went on for hours. I think it was the Nassau Colesium where he preformed.
He is looking rather fantastic for 60, let's get a list of the vitimans he takes and the diet he eats!
