Sunday is Open House day here in Manchester, CT, but this Sunday is going to be a little different. Instead of just promoting my own listing, I am going to be part of a GROUP OPEN HOUSE targeting the homes for sale in Manchester in this particular price range.
This idea came up at a recent Brokers Tour and several of us thought it might be worth trying. We all have houses to sell in the $169,000 to $189,000 range, so we are going to try to generate traffic to all the listings in our group. We each advertised our own open house independently, but at each location we will post a flyer with the location of the other listings.
Here is my listing at 220 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, CT which is on the market for $169,900. Stop in at the Open House on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 12:00 to 3:00.
There are so many great homes for sale, at such reasonable prices, and qualified buyers have a tremendous opportunity right now. I don't know if this type of open house will be more effective, but I will certainly keep you posted.

Peggy a group of Realtors from different companies did something like this about a year ago. But they did it as a tour of 5 or 6 houses. They posted signs stating the house that the tour would start at, and then they went from house to house, A Realtor stayed the whole time for those that did not do the tour so that they could show the house to others that dropped by. They actually had a good number of people that did the tour.
